A cashless & contactless digital payment solution launching today at 4:30 p.m. via video conferencing. The news from Prime Minister's office said, they are launching it to limit the touch points between government and it's beneficiary. 

It is a QR code or SMS based e-voucher, which delivered to number of beneficiaries. In the statement of PMO, "the user of this e-voucher can redeem it without a card, digital payment app or any banking access. 

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) in alliance with department of financial Services, Ministry Health & Family Welfare and National Health Authority developed e-RUPI. 

The PMO also said " it is used for providing essential drugs & nutritional support under Mother & Childcare Schemes . It sounds that even private companies leverage this e-voucher for their employee schemes .
